How to Reach Sarzana

Sarzana is reached easily as it lies on the intersection between the provincial road Strada Provinciale 1 (previously indicated by S.S.) the "Aurelia" and the national highway Strada Statale 62 of the Cisa. It has its own motorway exit on Autostrada A12.

The old medieval roads which linked the old city of Sarzan with other local centres in Lunigiana are still serviceable; of particular interest are the roads leading to the nearby medieval walled village of Fosdinovo, including the S.P.22 "Via Alta", offering an ideal viewpoint over the Magra valley and linking Sarzana with the inland part of Lunigiana. the S.P.21 road leads from Sarzana to Marinella on the coast

Sarzana has two railway stations (Sarzana and Luni) on the Pisa-La Spezia-Genoa line on the local stretch between La Spezia and Pisa.

Close to Sarzana is the Italian Navy's heliport and the river landing for pleasure craft at Marina 3B.
